Trends these days include customization and we have a marketing plan that would provide customized hair dyes according to customer’s requirement. in order for this plan to work, we need a team of web page designers who can provide online features that allow customers to choose their specific color shade, moisturizing effect,fragrance, natural blend, botanical extracts with health benefits, and customization for different hair types. This type of marketing strategy requires great financial discipline, small size of company in order to cater to different customer requirements, speedy engineering team, good relation with supplier, cheap labor, good sales team, and an online presence to sell to customers worldwide. Our success hinges upon the receptivity of consumers to customized hair care solutions, and big, established companies with large manufacturing capacities cannot achieve this. Therefore, as a start-up, with adequate capital backing, I believe that it is a marketing strategy that is worth trying considering the growing size of this industry and the higher disposable income of working females, baby boomers, retirees, and young, affluent fashion-conscious adults.

We strive to find the best talent for our ambitious project. We will hire talent wherever they are and create a team of web developer, advertising and design manager, energetic sales team, and flexible, knowledgable formulation chemist.

Current Status:

We are at the concept stage. Without adequate capital, it is impossible to hire people to execute our marketing and sales strategy. However, product development is already underway although our laboratory facilities are inadequate.

Funding Milestone:

We need at least RM50 000 to complete initial 5 000 units and to assemble a sales team to make our first brand launch in Singapore. We have a creative marketing concept for our launch and what we need is the capital to see that happen. We choose Singapore due to the fact that there are more working females with higher disposable income and also to maintain our brand image as a premium line that establishes itself in one of the most vibrant developed country in the region.

Business Valuation:

We would grant all profits from the initial launch to the investor(less COGS, depreciation, operational expenses, salaries, taxes, sunk costs). We expect to be able to renegotiate a different deal for our expansion and growth stage should this project be successful,depending on future growth and revenue expectation.

Expected Return On Investment:

Our rough estimate on the cost of the first launch is as follows(5000 units produced):

Note: These are rough estimates. Within realistic view, our initial launch may cost more and revenue may not be forthcoming. However, as promised, first 5000 units profit will go to the investor. Investors are advised to make risk calculations on their own.

Investment Risk and Mitigation:

The greatest risk is that our marketing strategy is unsuccessful. However, mitigation is quite straightforward in the sense that we could switch our strategy quickly enough due to our small fixed capital. Our products can be reengineered to fit a different marketing strategy. What is important is to constantly evaluate the effectiveness and profitability of our marketing plan and to have our production team on the standby to re-engineer products to fit new strategies.

Exit Strategies:

If, after the first launch, the investor finds this effort not worth the investment, he can call off the investment and savage whatever unused capital that has been poured into the project. At the initial stage, we try to make agreements that are as short-term and low expense as possible in case this project turns out unsuccessful. We hire people on short-term contracts and they can be dispensed with if this is called off. Also, our production site is can be rented out to another party and therefore the real estate capital may not be sunk. Chemicals are purchased at the expense of the founder. Inventories could be sold to interested third-party buyers. We do not plan to invest in machines at the moment.

The 3 of us are cousins and are experience in the lines of finance, accounts and human resource management with a combined experience of over 10 years working for large MNC/GLCs. We have been planning this idea for about 6 months now and we have now run into an issue of securing capital funding

Product / Service Description:

Real-live Escape Games originated from Japan and is a unique and interactive live puzzle event where teams of individuals solve mysteries and clues within a time limit. This game requires the players to escape from a place filled with puzzles. The objective of the game is to find and solve the mystery in order to escape within the time allotted. Players are encouraged to work in teams to crack the puzzles more efficiently and the Game Master directs gameplay to add a touch of drama into the story.
The uniqueness of the game is that the players are actually physically inside the story. When someone read books, one can only imagine. When someone plays online, the player can be drawn in, but is not physically involved in the story. Through this medium, players can enjoy it both physically and realistically and enjoyed the intrigue and drama of a race against time.

Business Opportunity:

Currently there are only 2 competitors in the Malaysian market a) Mission-Q (located in SS15, Subang) and B) Escape Room located at the e-Curve, Mutiara damansara. As the craze/fad is booming in this country, we have analyze the business and can summ up the issue that these 2 companies are facing in several phrases:

1) Too Academic
– Over reliance on puzzles to entertain the players

2) Unimaginative/Poor Story telling
– story line is weak meaning every situation is identical

3) Inflexible
– Current business set-up is unable to change with the demographic needs

4) Limited Demographic
– Again by over relying on the above points the target market is limited to those ages 16-40 with an understanding of logical puzzle games

Solution:
1) introduce a common Antagonist to intimidate players
2) Rooms are design to connect/interlinked allowing for adaptation
3) puzzles to be more physical than mentally challenging allowing for younger players to enjoy
4) lots more strategy… just not enough space to write

The project/idea is currently a craze in Asia and the USA and has just stated to boom in Malaysia in the past 6 months. We intend to capitalize on this fad and run the business from a combination of 2 different business models
1) Theme Park
– In which customers are removed from the current reality and placed into a created reality
2) Movie Cinema
– In which we would intend to maximize number of customers in the shortest amount of time and then to constantly change up the set-up of the rooms to encourage return customers

We have full plans for the 20 different rooms/situation and have identified the possible location of the project. we have invested time and effort in searching puzzles and storylines that resonates with the general public. we require the capital to be able to start the project.

We require the RM 800k to 1 Million almost immediately as the break down for the funds are as such:

The founder of the business is a mechanical engineer by profession and has 17 years of experience in project management in Pakistan in an ISO certified organisation.

I plan to open a fast food chain, starting off from one outlet, stabilizing the business and paying off the loan in the first year, and then expanding with branches.
The fast food to be served will be five different sandwiches, five different burgers, five different pizzas, fresh salads and fresh juices.

Business Opportunity:
The market in cyberjaya, sri petaling, putrajaya has huge amount of students. The potential for fast food is great.

Revenue Model:

We plan to keep the food prices low, and earn profit by having greater sales volume. The ingredients used will all be procured from the local markets (pasar borong). No frozen item will be used. As all the items will be purchased from local markets, the risk of shortages will be minimised.

The menu will be kept to a small scale.

The outlet will be run on principals of ISO 22000:2005.

SOP’s will be made, so that with the change of staff, the quality and taste of food items remain the same.

All activity will be generated through POS systems.

All out efforts will be made to hire staff members who are either orphans or the disabled people (This will be a little effort from us to the society).

The initial start up will require more funds, but subsequently expansion will be cheaper, as there will be a centralized kitchen with expert chefs.
The branches will be provided semi ready food, so no expert chefs will be required at branches as well as very little machinery.

There are two basic risks in a restaurant. The first is the specialist staff( ie chefs) If the chefs change, the taste changes. We will not be relying on the recepies of chefs. We will have our own recepies, which will be continuoasly improved. There will be standard operating procedures in place, so change of staff will not have any impact on food taste.
The second risk is consistency of quality of raw products. This impact will be minimized by purchasing only fresh products from the local market.

Exit Strategies:
After the first two years, the investor will have his investment returned with a profit of 30% p.a.
Third year will give him 40% of profit on his principal investment.
At this stage the investor will have the opportunity to either continue with 40% of his principal amount profit p.a. OR

ROI is straight forward and forecasted profits for 2014 are RM700,000.

Risk would be the venture as you would be buying into a service type industry that is based on relationships. this however is mitigated as the spread of our clients is quite even and all contracts we have are fully signed and strong relationships.
