Entrepreneurs Pitching to Angel Investors
After the first run of Pitch ‘n’ Win CAPITAL event last month, William Tan of Capital.com.my angel investor network did it again on 13th February 2014.
The event Pitch ‘n’ Win CAPITAL #2 attracted a large crowd of about 30 participants, occupying almost all the restaurant called Zest Cafe in Bangsar South.
Having learned from the previous meetup, this time we allocated 5 minutes for entrepreneurs to present and another 5 minutes for them to take questions and listen to comments.
Due to time constraint, we could only accommodate 6 presenters this time and had to turn down a number of requests to pitch. By 7:30pm, all 6 presenters were fully prepared to present their case.
Participants came from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Australia, even as far as France, Denmark and Mozambique. They included entrepreneurs, business people, investors and the general public.
Presenters took turn to make their pitch. After the 6 pitches, they were given time to answer a final question on why they should be voted.
Then the whole group voted for the best 2 pitches. They were asked to select 2 businesses to invest in as if they were the investors having a lot of money.
Nearly two-third of the audience chose Mikkel Bjødstrup from Denmark as the winner. The other 2 winners chosen were Anna Rehermann from Australia and Nurfaisal from Singapore.
The event ended in 2 hours, but the networking continued on for another half hour until the restaurant closed at 10pm. Hopefully all participants enjoyed the session and learned something new from the presentations!
